Good Budget Gaming Headsets

Yea, yea. Good Budget is essentially an oxymoron :pac:

I'm in the market for some gaming headsets, preferably below €30 and available on Amazon.

What would be ideal is that I'd have the option of turning on and off the mic manually on the headset itself. I've been looking at headsets, but none of them really state whether this is the case or not. It'll be for my PS4, but any normal headsets would be OK - there's the one earpiece one that came with the console itself, but I find it not that great for sound.

These are what are usually recommended for budget gaming headphones

A friend of mine owns them and is very happy. Make sure they work on ps4 first though.

The PS4 controller has a 3.5mm jack, so it should be able to fit those, but I'm not sure if the ones you link have the ability to manually turn on and off the microphone - it says you have the ability to mute on the volume control, but I'm unsure as to whether that means mute the audio or mute the microphone.

This states it has a mic mute button and the button on the left earcup looks like a mic mute symbol.
I think it would still be safer if someone can confirm ps4 compatibility before you order.

    Those ones could be interesting.

Could there be any compatibility issues? My (admittedly very basic) understanding was that since it is a 3.5mm jack, it should fit the majority of gaming headsets?

I don't own consoles and only know about PCs.
The head set has an audio 3.5mm jack and microphone 3.5mm jack, is there a place on the ps4 to plug in both jacks?

I just think if they had ps4 support it would state it on the offical page for the product.

    but it does not :(

    in the question section

Are these suitable for PS4? 17 Dec 2014
I would assume they work fine, as I've used them on my Wii U. Howver, you need to buy a little adapter to join the speaker and headphone jack into one headset jack. Here's the link: StarTech.com 3.5mm 4 Position to 2x 3 Position Headset Splitter Adapter - White https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CPEZ4J6/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_VODKub114J9F3

are these compatable with x box qne 14 Dec 2014
They should be, but to use the microphone to voice chat in games, you will need two more products: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Startech-com-3-5mm-Headset-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B004SP0WAQ/ref=pd_bxgy_computers_img_y : To turn the two jacks this headset has into one jack, and http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00I41H7US : To allow you to use voice control on your XBOX through the bottom of the controller.

Will this work with a PS4 controller?

No the mic and headphone sockets are separate not together as the ps4 controller only has one port

it is more suitable for pc due to it having 2 cables. 1 for mic and 2 for headset sound. however you can get an adapter and it will work. same goes for the usb version.

It doesn't work with XBox so I doubt it will with PS4 its purly for PC gaming. Hope that helps.

The previous model (380) has the same connections and works just fine on the PS4 with the addition of this connector which plugs into the controller...
    Startech.com 3.5mm 4 Pin to 2x 3 Pin 3.5mm Headset Splitter Adapter - M/F

I know it says Gaming but do these work on the PS4? Or just computer gaming?

You need an adapter such as Startech.com 3.5mm 4 Pin to 2x 3 Pin 3.5mm Headset Splitter Adapter - M/F. You can find this on Amazon site.

If your PS4 supports 3.5-mm inputs' for both mic and headphones then you can use these. They really are comfortable. Suitable for mammoth gaming sessions.

Very very good point and one I did not consider. Would most gaming headsets have an audio and microphone 3.5mm? This might be better moved to the Playstation forum, in hindsight.

Yes as most PC sound cards would have sepeerate ports for sound and mic

Laptops often only have 1 port for the 2 so you could use this to get it to work with a laptop

Again I've no idea if that would be compatible with PS4

Might be best to just ask people with a PS4 what they use.
