Basically all of the villages north of Tralee and west of Listowel are the hurling heartlands of Kerry but the real "nursery" in many ways is (or at least used to be) Causeway Comprehensive School, which serves all of them. Lixnaw, Abbeydorney, Kilmoyley, Ballyheigue etc are all good spots. Are there other factors you're considering as well re looking for a house? Buses, shopping etc?
(Just to throw the proverbial cat/spanner into things don't forget the hurling bastion of Kilgarvan in south Kerry, where a certain Jackie Healy Rae was once a champion hurler! :) )

Whatever you do, don't move to Kilgarvan.
