Help me find a car

So just found out today that my car is for the scrap heap so the hunt for a new motor begins. Unfortunately, I am not well up on cars so would love a little assistance in choosing the right one.

I am looking for something that ticks the following boxes:

    - Under €3k
-Under 2l petrol (but not too sluggish)
    - Spacious boot or fold down back seats as I need to carry some music equipment
    - Something reliable that isn't going to break my heart (or my bank balance) with repairs
    - Comfortable with a nice interior

So far I have looked at the following:

    Honda Accord
    Saab 93
    Volvo S60
    Ford Mondeo

Just wondering which would be the best bet or any alternatives to the four listed above.

    Cheers,
    Shteve

If your not a car person and reliability is a priority for you then I'd have the Accord out of that bunch.

You won't go wrong with a Honda. I'd a civic for 2 years and a crv for 6 years and never had trouble with either. The seats can feel a little hard but for reliability they are fantastic.

Is there anything in particular to look out for with the Accords?

I have come across these two:

Both are within my budget and look pretty decent.

ABS/Traction Control module can give problems, other than that the petrol engines are very reliable.

Check that the former owner has had regular oil and filter changes. Find out when the brake pads were changed and when the car was last serviced and who did it. Maybe do a car check and also have a look at the nct documents to double check mileage. If you have a mechanic you are friendly with bring him along. Honda's are very reliable though so you should be fine:)
