Disabled Person Buying a car..

Hi

I'm wondering can anyone help me...

My mother who is quite old and due to a number of different aliments is classified as a disabled driver i.e. has her disabled sticker which she got from the relevant local authority once she produced relevant doctors certs etc.

She is thinking of buying a new car (something easier to get in and out i.e. Skoda Yeti)
I think I heard it somewhere that he someone is classified as disabled they can get their new car vat free.

Is that the case?
Is been classified as disabled the same for buying a new car than it is to get an disabled sticker for your car?
What do you need to provide the car dealer?
Is it the vat off the price of the new car or the price of the car minus trade in value of old car?

Any advice much appreciated.

Having the blue parking badge and been a disabled driver are one thing and then to claim any VAT and VRT back you need to have the Primary Medical Cert.
Has she got the Primary Medical Cert.
That what you need to get the VAT and VRT off a new car and she will have to have the car adapted to suit her, on the first car I think you have to spend 10% of the cars cost on the adaptation, then you can just have the adaptation transferred to a new car when she changes the car.
If she buys a car and claims back any VAT and VRT she will have to keep that car for 2 years or else repay a percentage of the money she claimed back to the state if she sell the car in less than 2 years,
