Jobseeker benefit and Late collection of money from post office

    Hi, friend of mine had to go away for few days cos of some family reasons. Hes on JB from 5 weeks and collecting money every wednesday. Can he collect money few days later? And what happen if he does not. Many thanks

    Not really legal discussion.

    He needs to inform the social he's away, he get's two weeks 'holiday' a year. After a day or so it'll be 'returned' uncollected.

    I collect mine of a Tuesday. I can collect it any time from Monday to the Saturday of the same week.

    He can leave it there until the following Monday if he wishes and does not have to notify anyone.

    Actually he does, he's meant to be looking for work. Good to see things are being relaxed rather than tightened up on.

    The post office don't hold it for a week like some people seem to think. It's sent back at the end of the third day. So, if someone is due payment on a Monday, the latest they can collect it is Wednesday evening.
