Dog Friendly Pub/Café Galway?

I've done a bit of digging and come up with very little, apart from a pub that doesn't serve food.

We have to go to Galway to collect relatives next week and can't leave our dog behind as will be in the middle of a camping holiday. We were hoping to grab lunch with them and then head on to our site.

Any ideas? Anywhere that doesn't advertise itself as such but is relaxed about dogs in a beer garden say?

I was just about to post the same question but for Dublin/ north Kildare area :-). It would be great if we could make a thread listing places, as unfortunately Ireland really isn't a dog friendly place. I've been living in Budapest and we are spoilt as dogs are literally allowed everywhere! This even includes restaurants. I take my pouch to study with me in costa every day there but in Ireland this is not accepted..

What if you chose a place with a beer garden and called ahead to check with the manager?

I hear you TV. We holidayed in Cornwall last year and it was just amazing to be able to take your dog literally everywhere. I braved it out on Irish Rail at the weekend (no problem) and the Luas (lots of tut-tutting).

Re: North Kildare. We do a nice walk from Sallins into Naas along the Canal and then stop for a coffee/bite to eat at the Café at The Moat Theatre which has chairs outside. It's also away from heavy foot-traffic and the busy road.

Try the Twelve Hotel in Barna. I believe they are dog friendly.

    Hi,

We regularly bring or dog up to Galway with us for the day. We've eating in a few place along shop street, especially down near the Spanish arch and have sat outside with the dog without any issues. We just get her to lie down under the table or between us if were at an end table, basically in a position that's or of the way. We reckon the pigeons are more of a pain to customers than the dog!

Its a year old but I only recently came across this list of places in Dublin that welcome (or at least tolerate) dogs:

Theres also this list off publin which is more recent and I'm looking forward to trying out the Brian Boru as its in walking distance for me and has a lovely beer garden: http://publin.ie/2015/dog-friendly-pubs-in-dublin/
