Irish Water Bill - €128 - I only live here 3 weeks!

    HI,

    I got a letter yesterday from IW saying my landlord gave my details to them and that I can avail of a discount if I register etc. I got this last night when I came home from work.


    This morning, I get a bill for €128? From period 01/01/2015 to today. I live in an apartment so its unmetered.

    I moved into this place 3 weeks ago and haven't even paid my first months rent. How is the bill €128? The property was empty since Sep 14, then I moved in 3 weeks ago.

    Rang landlord - no answer. I will pay for the water I use, I have no problem with that, but I am not paying for 6 months water.

    Looks like either your landlord neglected to tell IW that the property was unoccupied previously or the previous tenants never registered. IW are normally good to deal with so they should get this sorted.
