Named driver experience letter

    Hi,

long story short, i got a letter from my previous insurer (FBD) that ive been a named driver for 3 consecutive years, now i bought a car and got my AXA online quote to 1200 euro which isnt all that bad considering im 23 with a full irish licence for 4 year. About 1 hour later AXA representive rings me telling me if i would like to proceed with the quote telling me they could give me a further 15% off over the phone, obviously i went for it. until the man asked when did i get the named driver experience letter, i told him back in february so he puts me on hold and after about 5 mins of waiting he tells me the letter is no good anymore, i asked him why and he told me that the named driving experience letters are only valid for 3 months after theyve been issued, so he gives me a new quote of ONLY 3495 euro!!!
Now as far as i remember when i got the letter from FBD insurance they told me that letter is valid for a year from the date of issue

does anyone know if those letters are only valid for 3 months?
Has anyone had similar issues or am i just being ripped off by AXA here?

    thanks alot

The letter is valid for however long the quoting insurance company says. They are under no obligation to accept anything or play by any set of pre-determined rules regarding prices or what they accept to base premiums on.

The entire Irish car insurance industry is a broken mess that serves nobody well bar the claim scammers.
