Toyota Touch & Go

I bought a Yaris last year and while it came with the Toyota touch system (7" touch screen, BT etc) I declined the Sat Nav upgrade (Tounch & Go) as it was an extra €950.

When I took it in for a service recently I asked how much it would cot to upgrade & found out is now considerably cheaper (€550)

Seriously considering it. I know I can get as good with a separate TomTom or similar, but I would really like an integrated solution. I dont spend on flash fast cars (as you can guess), but I like the idea of that little bit extra on the interior.

Do I need sat nav? Probably not more than 2-3 times per year, but irrationally I want it :)

Has anyone who has had any experience of the sat nav system provide a bit of feedback on how good it is?

Also the folks in the shop told me it was reduced to €750 about 6 months ago, and is now at a special price of €550 for at least 2 months. They didn't think it would go any lower ... but they would say that. I'm wondering if it is worth taking the risk of waiting another few months for a further drop?

If you just need it to have it - buy.

If you want to use it frequently - be aware that all built-in satnavs get maps updated at most once a year, and you have to pay for it a pile of money each time.

But it's your money after all, so do what you want.

That's not outrageous, and if it makes you like the car more, and you get some use out of it - then it's value

As an aside, I'd love to have been in the meeting where they decided to call it that.

Touch and go: involving or causing danger or risk; liable to hurt or harm

Why not spend the 550 on a integrated new DVD/TV/App radio thingy box....

This is original equipment stuff to be fair and uses the existing touch screen system/camera/wheel controls etc
