Following on from the tell us what you've bought thread I thought it might be interesting to see what good/bad/strange prizes we have picked up over the years.

So whats the most memorable prize you've won ?

I think there's a whole other social side to this game that's very rarely discussed out side the boards society threads.

We've a lot of lurkers reading but not contributing to any of the topics and I really think some people take it way to serious. We should have some fun topics, celebrate our achievements and try and be more inclusive.

It won't have your final handicap on your headstone

That would be my crowning glory :D

I'm going to have my lowest handicap on headstone.

Won a good bit of vouchers over last 2 year - I think vouchers are the way to go. About 300 euro +

Won one of these at a last boards outing and 52 euro cash :D

And a silly bit of crystal - useless. Jaysus , I wish crystal wasn't handed out.

I also won a free round in The Island in mini winter league here - that was the most enjoyable one, got a free round in Corballis too :P - to get my ass handed to me , by the biggest bandit around here.

But my most prized victory was a thanks from Norfolk :D

Number of posts deleted. It's very clear that there are number of posters who have no interest but trolling this place and if they continue to disrupt thread after thread they'll be leaving the forum for good.

I've won some rubbish vouchers that the wife was delighted with, chemist, spa, etc.
I reckon if I could win these types of vouchers more often, she'd let me play more!

My biggest prize in golf was a golfbuddy gps watch on the howdidido website in a competition they had. Won a few society outings for vouchers & scrambles in my club (always seem to do well in these).

But my best prize was a €70 runner up in my clubs open week back in March, more the achievement than the prize! Sadly have gone backwards since then.....

Arsing around the course one summer day exactly 20 years ago during school hols. Got asked to fill the last place in a four man team in a classic at another course. Went off and won a TV, sold it to auld lad for 200 and bought a good set of irons. TV still in use and irons get a run out from my bro too.

Best part of that day was getting lift back home with a fella who must have drank 6 pints in celebration before hopping into his car. At one stage he turned his lights off by accident while driving. Mad stuff, great days.
