Is private clamping legal now ? I have heard for a long time that new legislation was in the pipeline but it has taken apparently years longer than expected. Can somebody link me to a court case where somebody was fined for cutting a clamp off or removing a clamp ?

It's rumored a neighbour of mine was fined in court for cutting off a clamp and since then his car is nowhere to be seen because he is forced to park it far from his home but I cant find a word about it in Google.

Im speculating but i'd say if it happened it would be highlighted by the clampers as it seems to happen on a regular basis....

There is a guy in our estate who is apparently being taken to court for property damage (not sure if it's civil or criminal) - it turned out he was recorded on camera removing the clamp.

If a clamp can taken off the car without causing any damage to it then legally I dont think the private clampers can do anything.

Did you manage to read and comprehend the whole act in less than 14 minutes? :pac:
