EDIT: is there anyway I can type the serial number in somewhere and get the info on the headphones?

I went into cex today and asked for beats studio which were priced at 145. She handid them to me and I paid but I'm just after realising she gave me solo's which are priced at 105. What will I do ? Is 145 the proper price for studios? Or maybe there is a price mix up ?

    Solo HD is first-gen.

On-ear, small-ish. Not considered much good, but better than Studios.

Studios are over-ear, large. Treated rightfully with disdain by anyone with working ears.

Well I just returned the solo's and ordered studios. How could solo be better of they are cheaper ?

Because the Studios are bass-bloated designer junk, with laughable noise-cancelling circuitry that prevents them from working AT ALL without battery charge

    Enjoy!

I have a €50 pair of Sennheisers which are infinitely better than any beats, €300 or not.

Its a fact I'm afraid, I used to work in a shop that sold beats, they are a great fashion accessory but awful headphones.

Yup, that's what I find funny.

The ANC (active noise-cancelling) circuitry, in addition to being muck compared to Bose's, stops the Studios from working when the battery is drained. :pac:

Even my cheap Jabra Revo Wireless works on cable when the battery goes.

This is true. Sennheiser are a headphone specialist. They've been at it a long time, and know what they're doing, making some of the best high end studio cans available. This knowledge and technology trickles down to their budget sets, which perform remarkably well.

Beats are a fashion accessory, engineered to be bass heavy. In this case, you don't get what you pay for.

Thanks for all the info lads. I really did think beats were one of the best , might have to sell them on and buy different headphones

Ah now, the 205s are pretty uncomfortable.

OP, may I advise to go into MusicMaker and buy Audio-Technica ATH-M40x http://musicmaker.ie/studio-monitor-headphones/25866-audio-technica-ath-m40x-professional-monitor-headphones-4961310125424.html

The best value for sound quality vs price IMHO.

I've read that before, I've never had any issue but I have a huge head so im thinking maybe that has something to do with it. It doesn't make sense but I don't get that tightness problem

My HD205 pair is sitting unused in a drawer.

No-one in the family thought it was comfortable enough to wear for more than 30 mins.

That's strange, I've often worn mine for hours on end.

Got my beats today and I don't think there is any battery in them ?

EDIT: your right I found where the batteries go :(

At least they're standard AAA (AA?) batteries.

There the smaller ones. How can I tell if the headphones are genuine ? I got onto beats support with the serial number and they told me there's not enough digits ?

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately they didn't come with a box. I got the protective case with them tho and the cloth etc.

I bought them from cex online. To be honest they sound the same to me as any headphones only a tiny bit louder. I'm gonna sell them on but want to make sure they are genuine first. Don't wana be selling someone fake headphones lol

He bought from CeX so I would assume they aren't fake to be fair. Unless they dropped the ball, in that case I'd expect a refund.

I have sennheiser, audio technical, shure and klipsch.

But every now and then when I want a good brain rattle I stick on my pair of beats studios with a portable amp.

To be fair they are rubbish value, and aren't even worth the second hand price. 80 euro wired or 120 wireless would be where they are for value against other brands for new. Even then, they wouldn't be my first choice.
