One of my cows has been spotted suckling a couple of the other cows when there calfs are suckling. These cows are extremely quiet that's why they let her suck. Have separated her now but any advice how to stop her doing it long term?

Get an anti-suckling plate for her nose. Any co-op should have them. They look like this.

And works like so, it will flip forward and still allow her to graze. You can get plated ones like above or spiked ones. Whichever you think she needs.

the spring loaded ones work the best, if you get one with no spikes you wont have to remove it if animal is calving

I bought a couple of the plastic ones with the spikes, they did work and stopped the heifers from sucking cows but when I went to take them off the whole screw kept spinning and it was a job to remove them. Maybe I over tightened them putting them on.

I have had calfs before that were cute with these and still managed to suck the cow by flipping that over their nose and suckling. She could do the same
