Aer lingus regional delay 6th July

    Any ideas why aer lingus regional /stobart flights are running late today? Seems to have stated with a flight Birmingham to snn diverted to Dub. 3 hour delay now on BHX to ORK flight

    Must've been an aircraft fault. EI-FAU operated the diverted flight and swapped to EI-FAS at Dublin. The flight from Shannon took off around 25 min ago so a 2330 arrival at BHX with return to Cork leaving around midnight

    In cases like this if EI have a spare 320 or whatever would they not assign it to cover ? Yes I know its a code share but its still an EI flight.

    They don't. Fleet is massively stretched

    They have subbed 320s for specific purposes - capacity to CWL for rugby and cargo capacity for a coffin repatriation - but these were planned out
