If it is, its probably best not to put Air Core on the transfer request, especially coming from an existing DF member.

Contact your Brigade HQ or look at Air Corps R.O's.

I has been done and it's not too difficult, they either want you or they don't. It's up to you if you think a move there would benefit you.

You should be asking your Unit orderly room these questions.

    Well,

You should identify a vacancy (works better that way, depending on your rank). It's possible they have vacancies lined up to facilitate promotion.

As I'm sure you are aware, there are no inter corps transfers for another 12 months or close to it.

I won't post the procedures but it starts at your unit orderly room. Best of luck.

Also worth keeping an eye open for Air Corps courses like refuellers/fire crew courses and that kinda thing.

Have a look at the training directive. Having a course like this done pretty much guatantees you a transfer to the AC.

I see the ramp operators course is up but I can't apply for it now as im already on a course unfortunately :(

I know a thread here isn't the most appropriate way about this, it was just to see if anyone has done it really as i don't know many guys personally that has done it apart from the ones getting a course in the AC. They might know of vacancies etc.

    Thanks

Out of interest, why do you think you cant apply for it just because youre already on a course??

Or do you mean the two courses clash and you would prefer to do the one you are already selected for??

Yeh I have half the course done already and I've another 9 months of it or so, Leaving Certificate. I'm just back in my unit for the summer then back to school in September, so I would try a transfer now because it will probably take ages to process and so on!!
