Helping a relative fill out the application form for this benefit.

The form asks "Are you getting any other pension (private or occupational) from the Republic of Ireland or from another country? "

Apart from qualifying criteria like PRSI contributions what is the relevance of the question about a private pension and the amount that you receive ?

As I understand it INVALIDITY PENSION is not means tested but is based on your clinical medical capacity for work.

Probably for ancillary benefits such as Free Fuel etc, which are means tested.
