Sleeping Issues since back at the gym

As the tittle says, I am having serious sleeping issues since I started back training. Its not that I am not tired, I am shattered by 9:30pm. No caffeine after 3pm and Im not in front of the tv either.

Last night for example. Went to bed 9:30, read, try and get to sleep, it usually takes me an hour. Then awake about again at 3, then at 5:30. Alarm at 6:30.

I have hit it pretty hard for two weeks after a long time off. Today is my first proper rest day (still doing 40 mins cardio). I am taking my usual supplements of zero carb protien and glutamine.

My diet is very strict, carbs, fats and protein at 7am and again at 10am. No carbs after that. Drinking lots and lots of water.

I am seriously ratty without sleep.

A big feed of carbs before bed would almost certainly help you sleep better.

Are you sleeping better with the change?

Small things help like: open your bedroom window a little bit, have a lukewarm shower before bed, change bedcovers/pjs. Sometimes when I go at it hard in the gym I don't sleep very well either, over tiredness not good!

This line could be something to do with it? What exactly are you doing in the gym? Why aren't you taking rest days? You've most likely done a bit too much starting back and need to rest a bit more to let your CNS balance out! Take a couple of days off a week!

I found both creatine and glutamine fecked around with my sleep patterns. Had to cut both out after trying different amounts for a few attempts a few years back.
