    Does anyone know if you make a claim for a new key will it affect your NCB,lost a key last weekend and it's not cheap to replace

    Most likely be like a windscreen claim, have to inform till its outside the time frame they ask but makes no difference to the quote.

    Some insurance companies include replacement keys in the policy while others don't. As 123.ie are brokers you will need them to ask your underwriter.

    Just note that if you do have to make claim against your own policy then take into account that you will need to pay whatever excess is on your policy so it might work out cheaper to just pay for the replacement key yourself.

    But the best thing is to either read your policy documents or contact them directly.

    Yeah just checked my excess is €300,think replacement key is somewhere around that

    AFAIK the replacement key from 123.ie is a separate policy so the €300 excess may not be on this, only way to find out is call though.

    I think it's separate, the key cover is an extra fee on top of your premium. It was for me anyway.
    I think it was €20 extra.
