Hey all, I was looking to make an american amber, and I figured I might as well base it on my favourite one. It says on the wicklow wolf website they use the following grains and hops:

Grains: Pale, Dark Crystal, Light Crystal, Roasted Barley

    Hops: Magnum, Citra, Cascade

How would you guys formulate this recipe? I was thinking of the following grain bill.

    80% Maris otter
    9% Crystal Malt 40L
    9% Crystal Malt 80L
    2% Roasted Barley

As for hops I have no idea how to schedule it... I would assume magnum for bittering, and citra and cascade for flavour/aroma, but I've never made a recipe before so I'm a little lost. Do you guys have any ideas?

    I'll give this a go.

aiming for 4.8% / 35 IBUs I plugged these into BeerSmith.
-based on standard 19l Cooler/Pot all-grain profile on BS

    3.24KG of Maris Otter
    290g Crystal 40
    290g Crystal 80
    70g Roasted Barley (300)

    12g Magnum @ 60 mins
    12g Citra @ 30 Mins
28g Cascade @ 0 mins - (Can remember how the aroma of AA is on this one - you might want to reduce)

    1 pkg of US05

    1 HomeBrewer with TLC.

If it's not spot on, it will still make an Amber !
