    People count this stuff??

Only one I notice who consistently get a noticeable volume of thanks is MT over in the weather forecast. He's accurate an puts in a fair effort for our forecast considering he lives on the North American continent.

If you didn't think the 60 post was good imagine how bad people must have thought yours was.

A weatherman in a different continent predicting the weather in Ireland, this I have to see

I have thanked your first post here blackcard. I think anyone else who reads it should too.

Such blatant thanks harvesting should not go unrewarded.

Its probably the eirebhoy thread who died in 2009, it no longer exists as far as I know,

edit - there is one still on the soccer forum.

I once received 7 million thanks for a truly ground breaking and revolutionary post which turned the world upside down. The population of Ireland was then decimated from 8 million to 1 million in a huge cover up of gargantuan proportions on an epic scale.

The post you may ask? Oh nothing much. I just wrote in the creative writing forum "If they would rather die," said Scrooge, "they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population".

Not so much counting as if you got to Find All My Posts in the drop-down menu, you can sort by Most Recent and Most Thanked. So it's pretty easy to find!

If you agree we should get 50 cent per thanks from Boards.ie,thank this.

The most thanks I got for a post was about 70 I think. I was quite surprised as it was for scaring the sh1t out of one of my kids by pretending to be dead.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

The trouble with the 'thanks' function is that it attracts the thanks whores.

Think my highest ways 300. Maybe more. Someone less lazy than me can check. Highest elsewhere was.. 3000 - 4000, but that was on Reddit and almost anyone can get that there, so doesn't count too much.

Don't think half the stuff I say is that interesting or noteworthy and am always perplexed when I see a high number of thanks.

    You guys are crazy.

Couldn't agree more ........... in fact I'd say it's considerably less than half. :)

No, I'm almost certain you tried to pick a quarrel with me before. But then I'd assume that if you did have a problem, you'd have the balls to say it to me over PM. But maybe I'm wrong on both counts.

I've got 21,000 thanks. I only know that cause I went and checked after reading this thread.

I don't care much tbh. I think I've had a few posts in PI and other places with 100+ thanks.

Maybe it means something I've said has been useful, thought provoking or funny to somebody. Would be nice if something I've said has been useful to another person :)

I have 18,033 'thanks' - mostly for bad puns. I think my most thanked post was expressing doubt about Jimmy Savile's paedophilic tendencies, just before he was exposed as a paedophile. Around 300 people thought that was worthy of thanking. People are weird.

I'm afraid I can't "thank" this post as you are wrong :(

Christ, it seems almost every post in this thread so far has likes. Are people doing this intentionally?:pac:

Oh and 32 thanks was the most I got. Did not know you could check that.

You got an average of over 4 thanks per post whereas Jenny Thalia got just over 3. Actually, just got where Jenny Thalia got her name from, I'm very slow

I'm only ever on the touch site, so I can't actually check unless I switch to the full site. Not worth the effort. :)

I check who thanked my posts if I'm active in a thread where I've received thanks, but didn't really know the total.

As a Boards.ie celeb, it's perfectly normal for me to get tens, perhaps even dozens, of thanks a week. My fantastic daily contributions to the site is my way of giving back to the community and I'd like to think you thanking me is your way of saying... well, thanks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,628 ✭✭✭Señor Fancy Pants

I heard that when you hit 50,000 thanks, Dav turns up at your house (they know where you live).

He brings a biiiiiig list with aaaalllll the Moderators, past and present, on it.

You then get to choose which one you want and they have to live in your house. You never post anymore, you just sit there sipping tea and munching toast, dictating what you want posted and they do the manual work.

    Now, more toast! Stat!

I think I'm around the 35K mark. But my post count averages it out. A pics about jobs in Canada got me the most 320

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

2/3 of my posts get no thanks so the ones that do get an average of 3.7 thanks

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

Apart from weather guy (MT Cranium) I wonder who has the highest thanks per posts?

Mine is low at 1.2 per post
