Starting working in Ranelagh on the 20th of July and would hope to find a place by the end of August. It would need to be a walkable distance to mainstreet Ranelagh or on the Greenline of the luas as I'll have early starts some mornings(7am). Hoping for a houseshare and to pay 500€ per month approximately. Anyone who can help or knows any rooms going etc?? Thanks :)

The green line runs quite a distance. 500pm isnt really going to get you anything in dundrum or sandyford. You might get a house share on stillorgan or ballinteer. As you move out youll find something in leopardstown, stepaside or cherrywood.

You would be far better off living within walking distance, rents only reduce very slightly when you go further out. Better to simply live in the best location , no money on transport, nights out in town or ranelagh way cheaper also ... I find it odd people that want to live in inferior locations and can lose hours a day doing so, paying extra for the privilege of doing so...

Personal preference. Id rather a larger brighter 'better' place further out than some of the s'holes closer in. The nice stuff closer in is at a significant premium, >€800 pm.
