    Hi there,
    Need to buy a car tomorrow (Sat) so i've need some advice fairly soon. Looking for a Skoda Octavia and I'm looking for a reliable, economical, and fairly ok spec for not too much cash. Have about 3,000.

    You need to give yourself more time.
    There are so many Shiite ones out there, you'll only end up buying whatever you see.

    At your price level you'd be better off buying private IMO.

    Thanks for that. Yes i'm going to wait for another few weeks and save up a bit more.

    There are so many cars out there and it gets very confusing.

    We have 2 cars at the moment and one is getting a new engine. The other is on the way out but will hold onto it for another few weeks and look around more.
    I might go private also as I'll get it cheaper.

    I'd want to be mad anyway to buy a car with no NCT. Was desperate yesterday but not as much now.
