My stupid LG TV has decided to mangle itself and just keeps switching on and off.

Eyeing curved TVs any of you after hours people have one and recommend or are they a pain in the arse?

In 3 years time they'll be as popular as 3D televisions.. Better buy 1 for the bedroom too OP

What's the advantage of a curved TV? Do you have to be sitting directly in front of it to notice the difference? If so, how will that fit into you current living room set-up? How desperate are you to part with your cash? Those are the questions.

    I'm alright going straight now.

No clue. Figured they might be a bit of a 3D gimmick. Only seeing them in shops today and just started looking at them. I'm trying to figure out the difference apart from the obvious curve....

    May stick straight me thinks...

Great if you are living in a lighthouse as you can hang them on the wall.

    Gimmick.

If you're getting one then it'd be best if it was one where you can switch between straight or curved but I think these ones are ridiculously expensive at the moment, unless it's changed since I last looked into them.

Maybe this is why your last T.V broke.

You could have saved yourself 10 quid if you had waited for their next half price sale.

In two or three years they will be as technologically outdated as 3D TVs, or so the sales pitch would like you to believe. OP, you'll get a fine TV for a third of the price that you'll spend on a curved TV. It just depends on whether you're a sucker for the marketing hamster wheel.
