    New phone.
Laptop on. Itunes open. Phone charging from laptop.
Internet access from same provider as phone service.
New sim is in new phone, however it won't connect to itunes.
I don't have wifi. Internet is via dongle.
How can I set up my phone??!!
I can't find an answer on the apple support pages.

It shouldn't actually need connected to iTunes unless something is wrong. Can you continue without it?

    Thanks for the reply.
I'm given 2 options on the phone - choose a wi-fi network or connect to itunes.
I'm currently updating my itunes and mac os x software.
I think it may be out of date.

Use your Mac to create a wireless network. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH10666?locale=en_US

It's more than likely on old version of iTunes that's the problem. Either way via wifi will suffice.

Just tried to do this but my 'network settings have been changed by another application' and I can't.

Updated my itunes but can't install it until I update the operating system!
    It's taking forever.

    Thanks for the help.

Alternatively go to a cafe with wifi and set up your phone there :)

Yeah, did this in Liffey Valley last year! Worked a treat.
