Upgrade Help

Hey,

I would like to upgrade my PC. This is what I currently have

CPU: i5 - 4460 @ 3.2GHZ
RAM: 8GB DDR3 PC3-12800
GFX: Geforce GT 720
PSU: 280W
Motherboard: Not sure on the exact model but it's by Lenovo,

I'm guessing the PSU and graphics card need to be updated, will I also need a new fan? I don't have a decent monitor and would like to have two 24" ones. The machine would be primarily used for gaming. I'd like to be able to play the latest games but I don't need to have everything maxed out. I am based in the USA and have a budget of about $400-500 outside of the monitors and about the same for the monitors.

Decent 400w PSU and a GTX 970 would probably be enough, can't imagine a 970 would choke at 3840x1080.

If I'm wrong and it'll take more VRam then a R9 390X is probably a fine bet. Someone will clarify this I hope.

Gaming split across two screens looks fairly crap imo, with the bezel right in the centre. One ultrawide would be worth looking into.

You can pick up a 24" monitor here for €150 easy so you won't have trouble in the states. Newegg is probably the best bet for parts, or Amazon

Thanks for the prompt response, wouldn't game across second screen, that's more for when I need to work from home/multi tasking

Ah yeah I'd say a 970 is perfect then.

Have you a model for the case just in case card won't fit
