Have a week booked in New York at the end of October and need advice. Been watching the euro, and the Greece situation and hoping it would improve but I haven't really a clue about these things, so...

Should I buy dollars now and where? Was looking at the Post Office FX Mastercard but when I checked their rate today it was 1 euro to 1.07 dollars.
I had originally planned to just used my laser card over there at the time.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

Neither do the ECB or the IMF it seems. I don't think after hours will know much more. FWIW, I think Greece leaving the Euro could strengthen the euro. But I am drunk, so may not be the best person to ask.

Christine, is that you ? Are you and Angela on the lash again ?

OP I've moved this to investments and markets as it seems the best fit for your query

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Buy silver, bitcoin and ammunition. The Kremlin Max Keiser says so, and he's very much on the level.

I go to the States every November, don't even think of looking at exchange rates until two or three weeks beforehand, you'll only be second guessing yourself all year otherwise.

Yeah I have been driving myself mad lately! Its my first time to the States and now I feel like it will cost me a fortune, especially if the euro keeps dropping :(

I reckon you are better off leaving it until closer to the time. I can see the USD/EUR fx rate getting a little weaker, but not too much

I would wait. I think the Euro is going to get another haircut this year. I would wait.

Check to see if there are any foreign transaction fees first.
