Do many of you watch golf channels on youtube and if you do what do you think of them.I would sometimes watch Me and My Golf and try and practise their swing drills.

I watch me and my golf tv and/or Mark crossfield when struggling but just use their ideas and Taylor them to suit my problem. It can be dangerous though if you don't know what you are doing wrong...ie you look up video to cure a slice they tell you how to cure ott swing but yours is caused by something else now you have 2 problems rather than one :p

Best guy online IMO is Monte Scheinblum

I started watching Mark Crossfield videos. I actually enjoyed his Videos on K Club and Druids Glen. It's good entertainment, but interesting to see guys play golf other then Pros

I've watched all Crossfield's Vlogs. Even though I want to put him on mute most the time, I still enjoy them.

They were seriously impressed with Druids Glen, I'm not sure his exact words but it was along the lines of best course he has ever played.

He also did one on Carton House and while he liked it, the course looked fairly ordinary on screen.

If you look at his old videos from about two years ago it took him about 10-20 seconds to take a shot, last time I checked it was 57 seconds

Druids Glen video made me want to play it . Looks fantastic and agree with Carton

Rick Shiels and Peter Finch are another set of youtubers (who Mark seems to be at odds with for some reason) and I have no problem listening to them although their early vlogs were cringe worthy.

why do you think they are at odds?

I find Mark to be pretty annoying to be honest, get on and play the shots.

I do like Peter Finches lesson videos, he describes things pretty well I find

Not really sure, gist of it seems to be mark thinks they're stealing idea's , personally I think its just because they're competition for him so he lets that get the better of him some times.

That and they have different review styles.

+1 for Monte - fantastically simple and debunks a lot of the complexity around the swing

I like Monte and Herman Williams is one I like too. He's in the business of spelling it out to the letter for clowns like me who are / were wondering constantly whether they're even trying to do the right 'thing' in the first place.

I think if you don't take it too extremes those YouTube guys can be helpful. Teaching the swing is a very personal matter in terms of how its brought across. People are different and so are teachers. One guy you totally get and the next guy you don't know what he's talking about. And your mate could be the other way around with the same two pros.

I don't think I'd be starting to learn a new, different swing from a YouTube guy. But in order to check up on some detail that may be wrecking your head on whether it's important or not. I think it can be good.
