In the actual 1000th fight a loud Oscar Valdez easily outpointed Ruben Tamayo with almost all headshots at Super Featherweight. As ever with Mexicans the amount of punishment taken was impressive.

Valdez in his intro says he was one of the best amateurs in history. Yet he lost to John Joe Nevin in London.

Kovalez and Freddie Roach interested spectators.

Halfway through and Bradley ahead. Vargas is game and taller but is taking a lot of head shots and Bradley is non stop and wearing him down.

    Erik Morales in Vargas' corner.

    I have it 4-2 now.

Bizarre ending. Bradley miles ahead when Vargas landed a thunderous right with about 20 seconds left. The ref thought the bell rang 10 seconds before the end and said "Fight's over" and Vargas thought he had won by stoppage!

It was some shot and Bradley was out on his feet. Only his incredible conditioning kept him up.

Of course Bradley by UD but what an ending!

Andre Ward on the mic and said he fought Bradley in his teens. Didnt mention who won though!

    GGG ringside too.

Interviewed after Bradley offered Vargas a rematch.

Lots of people saying Vargas was robbed which is ridiculous. Tim could have taken two knees if he had to and with such little time left he was never getting knocked out.

Yeah they did and Ward said it was one of the toughest fights he's ever had. Of course Ward won, he hasn't lost a fight since he was 12 :pac:

Terrible blunder by Pat Russell at the end, after he'd done a good job of handling the fight generally. Don't think Bradley was going to be stopped. I imagine he'd have clinched his way to the finish.

It was a good performance by Bradley, but he does seem to brawl a lot more lately and takes a lot of shots in the process. I wonder how much longer he can keep it up.
