Hi , I pay my taxes each year before 31 Oct ... I receive a tax clearance cert for the coming year , only I get it up to 25th July each year .. Why is this ? And if I ask can I get it up til the end of oct until I submit my returns for 2014 ..
    Any help would be appreciated.

Tax clearance certificates are generally issued for a twleve month period, and then renewed on a similar basis. So if you first apply for one in July, it will expire the following July, and so on.

I'm hoping to pay my taxes a little later this year , maybe end of September.
I have a contract with a county council and my payment will be stopped if my tcc is out of date. Do you know if I'm stuck with the July date or could I get one to tide me over till October. ? The county council told me they don't know the answer only I won't be paid if it's not renewed !!!

I don't see the problem. Income tax pay and file for 2014 doesn't have to be done until October 2015 (or November if you use ROS). So you can renew a tax clearance certificate in July 2015 without having to make that filing. Revenue only refuse a certificate for overdue filing, not for things which aren't yet due.
