LFXX FIR 20150620180V01 F1179/15
Q)LFXX/QRCXX/IV/BO / /000/999/
A)LFXX B)201506300400 C)201507040400
E)DUE TO STRIKE WITHIN FRENCH CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY (DGAC), SOME
DISTURBANCES MIGHT AFFECT ATS SERVICES FROM JUNE 30TH UNTIL JULY
04TH:
1- A MINIMUM SERVICE WILL BE ENSURED. ACTUAL ATC CAPACITY WILL
BE DETERMINED ACCORDING TO AVAILABLE STAFF.
2- A DAILY NOTAM WILL BE PUBLISHED THE DAY BEFORE EACH DAY OF
STRIKE, TO DESCRIBE THE AFTM MEASURES TO APPLY, ESPECIALLY FOR
AIRCRAFT OPERATORS PROGRAMS
RMK:INFORMATION ON THE REAL TIME SITUATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE
FOLLOWING INTERNET WEBSITE: HTTP://DSNADO.CANALBLOG.COM

Between the 30th June to the 04th July, I assume that it will be same as last year, they will assess how many controllers show for work on the day, then restrict traffic flows accordingly.

They're French

They have no respect for anyone in France, they seem to be able to do what they like when they like and cause as much chaos and travel issues for everyone, look at the taxi drivers last week over a bloody taxi app, burning and smashing cars

I think the strike has been called off today for June 30 and July 1. There's a note on the unions website. https://www.icna.fr/bn
It's beyond a joke at this stage though.

I think the EU should get together and demand that only flights to France should be affected. A flight from say Ireland to Spain should not be disrupted by a few workers who have an extreme sense of entitlement.

It's a disgrace and it angers me that peoples holidays to foreign countries can be affected by a strike in another country.

But can't you see why flights to other countries are affected?? They need to fly through that airspace! And it's not as simple as fly around it either that put tonnes more pressure on the surrounding air corridors and their controllers and they can't handle all those flights ! Hence slots and cancellations

I understand your anger but I think it is unfair to simply dismiss their complaints as "an extreme sense of entitlement". I never hear anything said about why they are striking. It all gets lost under the impact of the strike on innocent people trying to go on their well earned holidays.

This stuff is going on for years now. Those going on strike must not be getting anywhere. At the end of the day, I'm sure they'd prefer not to be on strike. Nobody wants to see holidays ruined.

Best of luck to all going on holidays in the coming days. Here's hoping it goes as planned for ye.

The Industrial action has been postponed new starting period is :
from 0400 UTC on 02 July until 0400 UTC on 04 July.

So for the moment, I'd say yes.

The atc are well able to handle it, its more likely fuel restrictions and costs that are stopping companies from flying the long way around.

That's not always the case. Increased demand on the routes that skirt French airspace usually results in capacity being restricted and not every flight can be accommodated.
