One sticks out tomorrow that looks well handicapped. Dark Castle 8 15 Doncaster. Won this race in 2013 off 74 followed up the following week off 80. On lowest mark since of 68. Running better than the bare results recently and I think the 20s available with ladbrokes is decent value. 2 pts win.

I see Aidan has put up swynmor and I have followed. I think the 28s available is great value.

    BALLESTEROS 8/1 4.50 chester

C&D winner in a class 2 off 99. Ok it was 3 years ago but has then been running with marks of over 100 for 2 years and has now finally begun to tumble down the weights and runs off 83 tomorrow. Ran really well lto but didnt get a clear run so hopefully he can gets a bit more luck this time and dropped into class 4 im very hopefull.

Now is it possible that SEVE 9/2 could win the 2.30?
Well i think he has every chance.
Won his maiden fto over C&D beating ANONYMOUS JOHN who was 3rd by 3L and he is now rated 92. His last run was over 6f and its clear he didnt stay the extra. Back to 5f and also back to class 4 for today im expecting him to go very close

Now it would be a some coincidence should the double land but im on it anyway

    BALLESTEROS 4.50 2pts win
    SEVE 2.30 2pts win
    2pts ew double

    Gl with your bets

Will wait for some evens on Jack Hobbs in the morning before backing him. A reproduction of his Epsom run will be enough to take this.

    Buthelezi 28-1 3.45
Very consistent always running its race, with 5 to place I like its ew value.

    El Viento 14-1 8.15
On a competitive mark here. It has run in some very strong races last summer, only one run
so far this year but hopefully enough to see it go close here.
    14-1 ew

I don't know which poster uses the phrase "like finding money in the street" on here but that's how I feel about the 11/8 on offer about War Envoy in The Celebration Stakes (16.45) at The Curragh tomorrow. There are so many reasons to fancy this horse that I don't know where to start:

    1) O'Brien ALWAYS targets this race on Derby day and has won 4 of the last 5, always with a 3yo, which get a ginormous weight allowance. On that basis alone you could lump on his only runner. WE gets about 14lb from his 3 closest form rivals - I can't imagine that any of them can concede this weight and beat an improving 3yo, that won at Royal Ascot 9 days ago.

    2) O'Brien and Moore are in scintillating form and WF had a smooth success (on fast ground, like he will encounter tomorrow) at RA off a rating of 104 - adjusted to 111 after that victory. No horse in the field can match that form.

    3) He has always been held in high regard by AO'B and has raced at the highest level (Breeders Cup, French 2000 Guineas and Derby) up until RA, where he won an ultra-competitive 28-runner handicap off 9st 6.

I could go on but will suffice to say that only a messy race with muddling pace or the exertions of his efforts of last week can beat WE tomorrow. I don't expect either of those to be a problem (O'Brien wouldn't run him [alone!] if he had any doubts) and I think that, at 11/8, he is one of the bets of the season - must be an even money or odds-on shot tomorrow. Remember, O'Brien won this race with 3yo Giovanni Boldini at 8/13 last year, with nothing like the form of WE.

Agreed. Will go odds on i suspect

Not entirely a very interesting selection, and obviously a minefield of a race, but Seamour in the Plate today must go close.

Brian Ellison wouldn't be a favourite bloke of mine, for all that he is obviously a talented dual purpose trainer, I can rarely seem to get him right. but the Plate meeting is one he targets every single year, and it is my belief that he has targeted winning this race since he first started training horses. He was born on plate day, in Newcastle. He picked up Seamour from Jo Crowley less than a year ago and I believe this has been the target since. A couple more than satisfactory hurdle victories before picking up a nice pot at Haydock in a race which has been analysed as him slightly having the run of the race. I couldn't agree any less with that, as if the side he ended up finishing strongly on was the place to be that day, my uncle is my aunty.

Obviously he has got the widest draw, and he is absolutely mob handed, which is a trait of himself in these races, with often the unfancied one going in, but I feel there will be little messing around done here in what I feel is his best chance of getting his name on the Pitmans Derby roll of honour.

    2pt win at 12/1 general

The Hannon 2 year old that's coming over called island something(name escapes me) should win the 2 year old race. To finish so close lasttime after himself aand King rooks had went toe to toe for so long was very impressive to my eye. Ill be having a fair go on him.

The one time Guineas fav Top Offer worth a score at Lingfield tonight well drawn off a mark of 62, running better than the bare result last time having been poorly placed. 14/1

Eddie Lynam's Byzantium is well fancied in the 4.10. Group horse running in a handicap apparently.

Ive had 2 decent bets today Daneking 5/1 in the last , dont think the run at leopardstown was nearly as bad as is being made out, he had to take a pull and nearly clipped heals 4f out, made up lots of ground with the jock not killing him in the straight when his chance was gone.

Taking on War envoy with Shepards Purse , just dont know if War Envoy will get the gallop he wants and Shepards Purse i thought was unlucky at Leopardswtown and will give the FAV most to do

Banged in a very small lucky 63 with all the boards.ie hopes!
And a very small e/w lucky 31 on these at the curragh
    Daneking
    Shepards Purse
    Highland Reel
    Military Angel
    Stop and Linger

    Good Luck to ALL!

Unlucky I thought, looked the winner, hung badly and lost momentum.

Byzantium & Military Angel should be winning if reproducing those runs again and not hammered by the handicapper

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,393 ✭✭✭PM me nudes

Byzantemum will be winning Group races by the end of the season, or so I'm told

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,722 ✭✭✭posturingpat

Byzantium should have won no question in my mind Lordan was too busy striking a pose rather than going and winning the race.

That was a classic exchange on RTE.

RH: Ryan Moore flying over as we speak.
TW: He's here! He's riding War Envoy!
    RH: Oh ****! He is.

Think it was the pace of the race that done his chance, he needs to come of a strong gallop and they went a crawl

    :(

Sick, hammered into 11/8 and an O'Brien 7/1 shot romps home then! When on him, he does you but when against him he hoses up.

    That's gambling.
