LED number plate light bulbs stopped working

I got LED bulbs for the number plate lights on my 02 Focus about 2 weeks ago.
Last night I noticed one of them wasn't working (flickered on and off until it stopped working). Then I tried going at the other one to see what was wrong, but after this both aren't working.
I put filament bulbs into it again and these are working fine.
Is there any cause other than the LED bulbs being broken for them both to stop working like this?

If they are the cheap type from ebay then that's probably why. I've messed around with different brands of LED number plate lights in the past and the majority of them flickered until I bought a decent set.

Also when you put them back in you probably got the polarity wrong, they need to be in a certain way like a battery. Try switching them the other way round to see if they work again, would stop the flickering mind you.
