Joe Duffy will still be on at 145, earning a fortune, and Ray will get moved cos he wants moved. He's the boss.

I expect any 'new schedule' will just be the usual RTE diet of soft-hitting current affairs, interviews with the likes of Brendan O'Carroll and a bit of misery porn thrown in for light relief. I still haven't forgiven them for getting rid of Rattlebag. A much-needed forty-five minutes of ear-cleansing sanity after Liveline.

Tubs to move back to Radio 1.
This will be either by moving Sean O'Rourke to a 9am start to get a jump on Pat Kenny or put Tubs on from 9-11 and O'Rourke from 11-1 to lead into Lunchtime news.

This will enable 2FM to extend the Breakfast show to 10 and Nicky Byrne to start at 10am

Would be very surprised if Tubs was moved to Radio 1 when he's pretty much the only one doing well in 2fm

I'm not claiming it makes sense!

I just think that for 2FM to really hit the 'youth' type station Dan says he wants he had to get rid of Hayes and Tubs. Hayes is now gone from midweek. Tubs has to be next....

    Just a feeling I have

Can't see Sean O'Rourke gong on straight after Morning Ireland, they need something lighter in the 9-10 a.m. slot. Neither would I see SO'R going on until 1 p.m., I'd say Ronan Collins is fairly safe in his 12-1 slot. Speaking of which, that 12-1 slot must be the cushiest 'hour' any DJ has to handle. What with the Angelus, English news, Nuacht, Joe Duffy plug, weather forecast and various ad breaks, RC still manages to do a few back to back tracks and must be barely on the live mic. for 10 minutes in the whole hour!

Someone in another thread mentioned having an arts show in the morning. I actually think that would be a good idea. I know Arena is in no way a ratings winner in the evening, but I could see a similar type show doing alright in that 9-10am slot. A lot of John Murray's guests (when it wasn't RTE's patented misery porn) were books and music based so there would be a bit of continuity there. And it could move a lot of that stuff out of Seán O'Rourke's show too. It'll never happen though.

I'm going to nail my colours to the mast and go for what I think will be the "new" schedule.

7-9am: Morning Ireland (John Murray to go back to it possibly?)
9-10am: Ray D'Arcy (back to his "spiritual home")
    10-12pm: Today with Seán O'Rourke
    12-1pm: Ronan Collins
    1-1:45pm: News at One
    1:45-3pm: Joeeee Duffffffayyyyyyy
3-4:30pm: Ryan Tubridy (Monday-Thursday)/Mooney Goes Wild (Friday) (I am not a fan of Tubridy's at all, but as Dan Healy has (finally) just gotten rid of Colm Hayes from weekdays at 2FM, I think Tubs will be next to fall on his sword in Dan Healy's chase of the yoof market. Referendum and all that has passed so I imagine Radio 1 big bosses think Mooney is safe to let back on at a somewhat respectable slot. And Mooney Goes Wild seems popular for some unknown reason.)
    4:30-7pm: Drivetime.
Post 7pm: Seán Rocks and friends; John Creedon playing pretty good music, and whoever else they can convince to be on the radio at that time of day.

If the new schedule involves moving Ray D'Arcy from that afternoon slot I'll be delighted, he's absolutely dreadful. Come back Mooney all is forgiven..

I was getting optimistic at the prospect of D'Arcy moving to 9a.m. as I rarely listen to JM so I'd be able to leave the radio on RTE1 from 10 a.m. (except for Unfunny Friday and Joe's misery/death slots), but the prospect of listening to Tubridy from 3 - 4.30, well would drive me to ringing Liveline!!

It would be the easiet thing in the world to find someone that's better than Ronan Collins................

There is no way they are going to pay Darcy 500000 for an hour a day and two hours on a Saturday night.
I can't see them moving him to 2FM either it's too soon to go head to head with Anton and i reckon he'd get crushed and lose the listeners that Tubs has taken so long to gain.
And the suggestion that someone made about extending the breakfast show to 10 clearly hasn't heard it!

Isn't Brendan O'Connor taking over from John Murray in the morning anyways.

No... He is filling in for the month of July.
