So I noticed ye are installing meters in Tower at the moment... as such the water has been turned off NUMEROUS times now without notice... We nearly burned out an electric shower as we didnt know it was off first thing in the morning and the tank emptied with no water filling it.

This isn't acceptable... I understand water needs to be turned off from time to time but full noticifiations should be issued to users...

    Hi fionny,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused while you were experiencing supply disruptions. We endeavour to contact all customers two weeks prior to metering works beginning on their property and again two to three days in advance of works.
During meter installation works water will be turned off intermittently, for a period of two hours at a time. If you continue to experience disruptions after this time, please feel free to contact us and we will investigate further. Our contact details can be found here.

We also tweet outage supply interruptions and update our website here.

I hope this information helps. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,

    Aaron.

    We received NO notices.

It amazes me how people who are ACTUALLY playing ball with ye are still getting shafted by a half assed (irish) attempt at setting things up.

Surely they send letters to each house, well in advance, notifying of any planned outages (the same as the ESB or any other service providers do)?

This sounds like a plumbing problem, not a water supply problem. Your attic tank should store 200+ litres. The water would have to be off all the time and for you to use whatever is in the tank before your shower for this to happen.

Are you sure the shower isn't connected to the mains supply? This would appear to be against the rules.

If the shower isn't getting water, it should know that and the heater / pump should cut out before it burns out.
