New job, Revenue Anytime shows Jobseekers as 'additional income'?

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows the story with this or has experienced this before. I had been on jobseekers allowance for a few months but recently got a new job. My Revenue Anytime is now showing Jobseekers Allowance under 'Additional Incomes'(previously it didn't show anything about JA).

My new job has been added to Revenue Anytime so they are at least aware that I am working. My question is, is the JA supposed to show in additional incomes just as a record? Or is it supposed to have been removed once I stopped receiving it?

    Thanks.

Best to give your tax office a ring in the morning maybe

I'd imagine it is just shown for record purposes, since Jobseeker's Allowance is not taxable, unlike Jobseeker's Benefit which is taxable and would impact on your tax credits.

Ah thanks for pointing that out, I had forgotten J.A. wasn't taxable. I was worrying it being there was somehow affecting my tax credits or something.

If you have received Jobseeker's Benefit at any stage throughout the year, this will have a negative effect on your tax credits - i.e. reduce them.

This will be reflected for the entire year on PAYE Anytime, and your tax credit certificate
