Can I apply for test on expired 2nd Learner Permit?

    Hi all,


    My 2nd learner permit (motorcycle) is about to expire. I don't really have the funds to renew or to pay insurance right now.

    To get a 3rd permit I need to prove I applied for the test.

    My question is can I apply for the main test on an expired 2nd learner permit and then take the test date to the NDLS centre to get my 3rd learner permit?

    That's what you need to do. You would need to provide proof to the NDLS that the test has been applied for in the category in order to get your 993.

    Depending on your circumstances and bike you may be able to renew without the A category and get A2 on 991 if it covers your bike. That might take the pressure off.
