What actors do you think were just born to play their role in a certain movie or movie series? Or that a movie was specifically wrote for a certain actor to be in it.

    I'll start it off with

Jack Black - School of Rock. Can't imagine anyone else play his character just was perfect for the role. He had the personality, the looks and the knowledge and passion for the genre. Brilliant performance.

I have to say Tony Stark being played by Robert Downey Jr. is pretty spot on.

I also cant imagine anyone else playing Red from Shawshank Redemption other than Morgan Freeman.

Charlie sheene as Charlie in 2 and a half men.not acting just being himself

Have to agree on RDJ as Tony Stark and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Can't realistically see anyone being better suited.

I know DiCaprio was linked, but Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman in American Psycho.
Bale is darkly funny in a way DiCaprio had never really tried at that point. He absolutely nails the social awkwardness as well (business card & bathroom encounter scenes).

Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden. Brad Pitt brought a real coolness to this ultimately destructive character that I think others may have struggled with it.

    Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter.
Anythony Hopkins in any of his roles, really. He is an amazing method actor.

Ian McKellen - Gandalf & Magneto

Bill Murray - Lost in Translation.

He was excellent in it and I cannot picture another actor playing that role.

Ian McKellen - Gandalf & Magneto

Have to disagree regarding magneto, great performances, but doesn't have the physical presence of Magneto. Fassbender looks much more like you would expect Magneto to look, albeit a younger version.

Sorry to ruin it, but School of Rock was written almost entirely for Jack Black, so not so much that he was born to play the movie, but the movie was born for him.

I would personally say Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon. He's fantastic at the quietly insane.

Bruno Ganz as Hitler in Downfall. I don't know if it's a good thing or not to be "born to play Hitler" but he was amazing in it...... Before it was ruined by its overuse in poor memes

I am going to be an uber nerd and suggest Kate Mulgrew in the role of Captain Catherine Janeway on Star Trek Voyager. She inhabited that role and unlike other worthy mentions like The Wrestler it wasn't that Kate Mulgrew was the basis of the role but rather her acting style simply suited the role to an incredible degree.

Have to agree with Mel Gibson as Martin Riggs. Also Joe Pesci in the Lethal Weapon movies. He was brilliant. I'd say they had some laugh making those movies.

    Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.

When he shot the swordsman in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the look of exasperation on his face was hilarious.
