recommendations for low mileage

    Trading up from a 2006 vw jetta 1.6 petrol. Daily commute is about a mile each wayðŸ˜႒ and while I could walk / cycle, I need a car to get to a meeting here and there, collect the odd client from the airport etc..nOthing more than 20 km round trip really..and weekend driving..mainly motorway. The jetta has been good to me but is heavy on juice for short trips, tax is high enough (relatively speaking) and it's time before it is 10 years old.

    Budget about 8-10k along with jetta. Had a golf before but don't really want to go back to that size / style of car. Have been looking at an insignia or a mazda 6 or maybe a 3 series..but not sure these are going to be any more economical. Diesel probably isn't a runner considering the low mileage daily...

    Any suggestions?
