Frame size

I recently bought a Trek 1.2 road bike. I was measured up by the bike shop who said that the best fit would be a 54cm frame. I'm 5ft 10 with a 32 inch inside leg.

When I picked up the bike, they spent some time setting it up for me Since then, I have been for a couple of decent spins. I found that I had some discomfort in my lower back afterwards, and I found my wrists quite sore whilst cycling (I did change my hand position regularly). The saddle also sloped down which I adjusted yesterday.

Maybe it is because I am just not used to the riding position, but I am also wondering if a 56cm frame would be a better fit. The saddle post on the 54cm frame is not far away from the max height.

Would anyone have any thoughts or recommendations?

Im 5'7" and ride the same bike in a 54 and its a perfect fit for me(had a proper bike fit done and didnt even need to change stem)
I wouldnt be as concerned with saddle height as i would be with reach so it would really be your Torso length that would decide on which frame would suit best (its easy move a saddle up and down not so easy to lengthen/shorten reach but obviously can be addressed to some degree with stem change)

Given the leg you provided sounds like you are in "proportion" for your height so maybe you would be served better with the 56..
