    Hi everybody out there.

Any hints on changing batteries in wireless shock sensors and magnetic contacts fitted with above. From what I can gather installed about 6 years ago and batteries never changed.
Now error messages appearing on all zones mentioning batteries.
Would they all become depleted at same time?
Is it a simple job to replace the batteries?
Thanks in advance for any help ,hints and guidelines.

    Patricio.

Simple enough to change. The contacts open by removing the Philips screw and the sensors are opened by gently prising the tab at the top or bottom of the unit. After 6 years they all should be replaced. You done well getting that time out of them. Sensors, contacts and PiRs have each got different battery sizes so best to take one of each if going shopping for them.

    Hi KoolKid

Thank you for your prompt reply.

So if I understand you correctly one just replaces the batteries?

No reconfiguring the panel,or looking to register the zones\sensors again ?
    Just straight swop ?
How long can I have the batteries removed for ?

    Thank you in anticipation.

I am on "nights" so sleep for me for a while...

No, there is no reconfiguration required. Just replace the batteries and all will still be online.

In most cases when one or two go they can all follow suit.
The batteries you need are as follows.

    Contact, CR2
    Motion detectors CR123A
    Shock sensors Saft ls 14250.

These batteries can be got in any of the suppliers listed here.

I will keep you informed of my success or failure and thank you very much for advice.

No problem. Remember when you open a device the alarm may activate as it should see a tamper event. If it does simply use your user code to silence.

Any other problems, let us know.

    Hi Folks

    Having difficulty sourcing batteries.

CR2 for contacts and 1/2 AA cell 3.6v for sensors re literature supplied with above.

Any hints where they could be got?

    Altor !

Am I correct in assuming that the scenario you describe above will not occur if the system is in engineer mode?

Save running up and down and about...

    Pat.
