Im on Kinetica oat gain at the min, but as i have one shake per day, a 4.5kg bag lasts only a little more than a month, and its pricey.

Anyone use any slightly cheaper alternative?

A coffee bean grinder and a big bag of oats from Tesco. Throw the results in to some milk with your whey protein of choice.

    It's basically a carbs and protein in a rough 2:1 ratio (52:28 per 100g).

You could make your own with oats and whey.

How much does the Oat Gain cost?

Depends where you get it. On the kinetica site its over 100 quid for a 4.5kg bag.
Most places have it for between 64 and 70 though.

I got mine in January for half price on a deal(35 quid a bag). Was a limited purchase offer though and im on my last bag.

At normal price of about 64 quid a bag ita roughly 2.30 per 160g serving

€2.30 for a 630 calorie serve isn't really that expensive. I bet if you look at the rest of your food over a month, there are foods that are much more expensive in terms of cost/calories.
It just looks expensive aren't putting away 20,000 calories of those foods per month.

If you want to do a cheaper version, then 5kg of oats and 2.5kg of Impact whey from MyProtein is about €49, you can maybe get it down a bit if you buy oats in Aldi or Lidl. That comes to about 550 per serve.
If you really want to match the profile of kinetica, add a 500g jar of cocnut oil (€2.20 in tesco) to oats and blend.

That comes to 8kg of mix for €50
    €1.00 and 640 calories per 160g serve

I would be inclined to go the way Mellor has suggest. If you don't have a coffee grinder a blender will do the same job.
ALDI, LIDL, TESCO all have 1kg bags of oats for 93c. Add in the cost of a bag of protein powder from my protein and you will be onto a winner. They also always have a few valid coupons online. Depending on the coupon you could make nice additional savings. Anything up to 30% off, if a coupon is expired, imputting it may still yield you a smaller discount.
