    Hello,
I was wondering does anybody have any information on this program. Found out last week that it is a springboard program. Classes till end of july followed by placement. 40 credits although i am chasing whether these credits are spread also over the placement. It was sort of ran last year. Candidates half to stay on social welfare for the duration of the course and placement or so i have been told. I would like to hear from those whom are currently on the course or whom done it last year. Are the credits or assignments spread out over the 12-16 weeks? the virtualisation module proposed to teach alot of linux but what is the entry level needed, LPI 1 ? What are the employment prospects? The intention is to employ some of the candidates? Is is a good course, well taught, organised etc. ?

I think this might be brand new. GM's IT department in Ireland is about 2 to 3 years old. So I assume that the course work follows the usual modules for the college, cherry picked by the GM managers in Sandyford for openings they want to fill.

Are you referring to this? I figured it was for the Sandyford office, both are new though.

The GM site in Limerick is programming specific. HP in Galway is more based around IT operations support work with some small programming teams. At a guess, I'd say they both sponsor the course to do Graduate recruiting. Most multinationals in Ireland do. Low wages combined with Government kickbacks mean cheap labour in a country they can deal with.
