Topped 14 acres of rushes yesterday with a mounted 6' Major flail topper. It will chew through anything, even the odd stone strike is no worry to it. It will but through big thick knobs of mature rushes like butter.

Don't use a topper as such but have 9ft krone disc mower instead. No rushes just grass and a few thistles

Are krone a good brand of mower. How do you find it?

So far so good. It has the quick fit baled system which makes changing a damaged blade very easy. No messing around with scanners and hammers.

Have a major here, good machine has alot of work done. However, the plate on top is starting to rot and rust from the inside out which can't be stopped. Will have to strip and redo it in a couple of yrs or else trade up for a licker.

Abbey 6 foot offset. Ive dropped it down as low as it can go and seem to have stopped leaving the grass uncut where the tractor wheel had previously driven on it.

Flemming (i think, no markings on it) semi-offset.
Used at second from lowest setting.

Has been reliable in that only a few flails changed and none in 3 years (probably next time out now)

Will mush up heavy 3-4 year old rush with no problem, lower speed and higher rev does the trick.

Its 8-10 year old, sturcture is solid even though a little surface rust showing.

Fleming super float 800 is a great job, if you've thick fields of rushes though this may not be the topper for you otherwise they're 10 outta 10

Major side mount 8ft. Great machine, makes dust of the rushes.

Have an old Belmac itvwas a great topper still going. Real advantage is that you only needed to put the arms on it no top link

Have a connor topper here for the last 15 years. Never a bother with it. I recently upgraded the pto to a slip clutch shaft , so no more shear bolts.
