Hi guys , looking for some advice, my partner started a new job last week as a beauty therapist, she was to be trained in certain aspects of it which would be normal and told to get the uniform which she bought . On Saturday morning she got an email, stating the boss wanted to have a talk with her on Monday. I dropped her in this morning and she was told she was let go due to not being busy enough. I lost the plot and went into the place asking why would you hire someone for 4 days before telling them that there not busy enough. Who does that, Is there something that can be done, cause this is outrageous . when I went in she told me that they were too busy to train a person in, fcking bitch.

Well I certainly dont think you helped her case in any way marching in there all guns blazing. Can your girlfriend not fight her own fight?

I would imagine there is a probationary period so they would be covered. You going in kicking up stink for her certainly wouldn't have helped, what did you hope to achieve?

I didn't go in kicking and screaming cause I knew that wouldn't help , she was still in stock

Nothing was ever mentioned about a probation period

You "lost the plot" and then called her a "fkin bitch" here.

Well if I'm embarrassed to hear you went in like that, I can only imagine how she feels...

You're entitled to nada! zippo! zilch!

You weren't constructive whatsoever in this instance!

If she was only in for 4 days, I doubt she has much of a case. It could just be counted as a trial period.

    Has she signed a contract?

You can be let go for little or no reason in the first year of employment.

Like a gent? You just said you lost the plot. What did your girlfriend say when they informed her of this?

Op by the way you've presented yourself here you're lucky they didn't call the guards on you.

In your OP you asked if something could be done. People have already said no, since she is new to the job and can be let go for pretty much any reason. Now you're looking for justice. What justice would be sufficient?

There is nothing she can do but move on

They have every right to let her go at this stage. Piece of advice pal, don't ever go into your partners place of work to fight her battles. Probably best not to go near her work place full stop as you come across as I right knob head for flying off the handle before getting your facts right and making a holy show of yourself and your poor girlfriend.
Chances are she wasn't cut out for the job and was let go, maybe not competent for the position

Honestly, within the first year she can be let go for no reason at all and there is no comeback.
Its likely they just didn't strike it off with your GF, or she didn't have the level of skill they expected and so decided to try someone else.

I'm not being mean, its just the way things operate and they've done nothing wrong..

My only commend would be on the "uniform", if its job spoecific then they should sponsor it, if its a tunic that will pass in other places of work then I wouldn't think much about it..

    Live, learn and move on..
