    Hi.

I am looking at 2 Grand Scenics both the same age , spec and more or less same mileage.
One has the standard 1.5 diesel and the other has the 1.6 diesel with 130 bhp.

To me the 1.6 is the way to go because of the extra power as it is a big car but for some reason the 1.6 is cheaper to buy than the 1.5. This has me worrying over my choice.

    Any help.

Its petrol I would say, only the new generation scenic 2014 on has a 1.6 diesel, from 2008-2014 was 1.5 unless it was in import from uk, anything before that was 1.5 diesel 1.6 petrol.

    Hi.

Both are 2012 and both are definitely diesel. I assume then that the 1.6 is an import.

After driving both I am very tempted by the 1.6 130 as it by far more powerful and smoother than the 1.5.

I suppose I will have to decide whether I can trust an import after all the bad news stories you hear about them

I will have to check if Renaults 5 tear warranty is covered on a uk car over here.

Th Scenic got the 1.6 from 2011. Just very few here I'd say. May well be all UK imports.

The 1.6 could be a UK import but there might be other reasons for the price difference such as a lot more owners or was crashed. Dig deeper before deciding.

Definetly not a grand scenic from 2011 anyway wasn't an option from Irish dealers, the odd scenic xmod that came in had it alright, but very odd.

Thanks everyone. Really torn between the 2 of these as visually both are in excellent condition and suit our families needs well.

Can anyone recommend a good car check website that would cover an English import.

The free check on http://www.motorcheck.ie/ won't tell you much but it will show a big red banner if it's a UK import.
