Overflow pipe leaking

For the last few weeks our overflow pipe outside from the roof has been dripping constantly. It will stop completely when we run the upstairs hot water tap for a couple of minutes but starts up again a few hours later. The hot water isn't hot as we haven't had the immersion on.
Any ideas on where the problem is??

    Thanks

Faulty ball valve or cylinder coil leaking would be my starting point.

Check the ball valve in the attic tank, chances are it's not closing fully and needs replacing.
