Internal wall insulation/skimming am I being ripped off

As part of a builders quote I included internal wall insulation ( semi detached so three external walls) and skim the whole house
    - it's currently a 1000 average 3 bed dublin but 40m2 extension being built. Not 100% sure if extension insulation incl here though as listed under the extension price so in theory the insulation price for that walls would only be the bedroom and bathroom upstairs surely on that side?

Prices quoted so far from builders for this range from 7100-8200euro. I need to try make some savings as my quotes were more than I expected so wondering if I'd get a better quote elsewhere. Would this be hard to organise separately to the builder? Novice so any tips would be great

What is the m2 wall area for insulated plasterboard/ skimming? What is the specification Of the insulated plasterboard and skim etc? How do you expect anyone here to comment with so little info given?

Your getting an extension built and you don't know if insulation is included? What specification did you give to the builder?

The extension is being insulated I'm just not sure the cost of insulating the extension is included in the "extension" or "insulation" part of my quote but the most likely is insulation as a description of insulation is included in both.
It is 70mm internal wall insulation to the three sides of my house (not the wall to my neighbours property) and between joists of extension, fit new window boards and skim out all walls and ceilings.
I have no idea the square meter wall area as I haven't measured out every wall. Being honestly I would have thought that a standard 3 bed semi detached house Might be a typical size. House is around 1000ft2 prior to extension and extension is 40m2. Hopefully this information might give a better idea. Sorry I should have put as much detail as possible in original post.

The price is what the price is, if your not happy then get other quotes. If they are all in and around the same price then its a fair price but also beware of cheap quotes because I know of a cple who went with cheap plasterers inside and out of a newbuuld and the work was terrible. They had to redo 60% of it and that's only because they could only afford 60%, all of it needed redone. A hard lesson that family learnt when choosing the cheapest.

Not interested in getting cheap quotes for dodgy work, I'm just finding that some things in my overall quote so far are more expensive than I predicted and I've been better off getting things quoted separately that's all. A highly recommended electrician has quoted me a dramatic price savings and it was a very detailed quote and even included some additions. I just think insulation is likely going to be harder to organise separately to a builder so I don't want to waste anyone's time quoting me if it's too hard to actually use them but there is no harm negotiating with a builder either as I'm trying to get all the numbers to balance.

What did you base your predictions or did you just guess?

I had no plan to insulate the walls but I have been convinced that I should so I guess stupidly that wasn't in my budget at all. For everything else I did a lot of online research, went to home show in rds, spoke to a lot of people but also I have the full figures from a friends renovation which are very detailed, from building right down to furniture and white goods prices. Very similar jobs required too which helps. For rewiring the figure I have now is very similar to what my friend paid so I'm happy with that now. She didn't insulate the rest of her house so I haven't got that to compare.

1st tip: get more quotes, at least 3

What are you doing re the internal walls that butt onto the external walls?

Does the figure for doing existing include removing rads ect as well as redoing any sockets, tv , fone, LAN points.

What are the plans for managing the ventilation and humidity in the newly insulated house.

A house that has had no issues re say humidity/mould/damp, etc can change when you change the thermal performance of the existing structure.

While it might not impact on the price that much 70mm might be too much if you don't think about these other issues

Work out the M2 of the walls and come back here then. If there are services to be removed and refixed like rads list those too
