Air freshners is like febreeze, get rid of the source of the smell and no need for them.

From my experience in taxis or taking lifts. Very often the source of the smell is from the driver.

I like the smell of certain natural oils. So I usually just drop a few drops around the front. More so to have a pleasant smell than to remove an odor. Tea tea, eucalyptus, lavender or something lemon or orange based are what I go for. 3 or 4 drops and I'll snell it all day.

I use a lemon magic tree because I like the smell.

Do you have an odor in the car OP, or are you just looking for some fragrance in the car?

Observe personal hygiene and forbid the consumption of food and drink in the car.

    Job done. Works for me.

There's a big difference between having a car that's clean and having a car that smells nice.
I like a nice smell in the car, I use Yankee candle air fresheners.
    3 for €5.

I like the Magic Tree Black Ice and New Car Scent, they have helped with flogging my old fleet in the past.

    I use either this:

    http://www.chemicalguys.com/New_Car_Smell_Premium_Air_Freshener_16_oz_p/air_101_16.htm

    Or my personal favourite:

    http://www.chemicalguys.com/Stripper_Scent_Premium_Air_Freshener_16_oz_p/air_069_16.htm

Spray them in the car, nothing dangling from the rear view mirror annoying me.

Midsummers night is my favourite. Plenty of lighter/fresher options if that's what people prefer. The ol magic tree has had its day at this stage I think.
My car is clean... I just like the smell of summer nights :-)

I like those jelly belly 3d ones. They last a few months and have a decent scent. I like the orange one.

They are relatively small so I put it into the otherwise unused ash tray. I don't like hanging things on the rear view mirror.

Same as! Both of those are decent and I kinda like the look of a magic tree hanging down the rear view mirror :pac:

Snap! I had the same thing happen, the smell over powered everything and drove around with the window down for weeks, no amount of cleaning or wet vac got the smell out.

I normally pick up a few California scents, they smell lovely and last forever.

Its not an odour in the car . - just looking for fragrance that lasts longer than those trees .

Must try some of the suggestions above :)
