Want to head to Dingle through Tralee...someone recommended the connor pass.....
Back to Killorglin and up the black vally to try connnect on to have a pint in Spillanes pub...and on to Coom the highest pub in Ireland...

I am slightly out here on this map....

Married to a local so I know the roads well.

That link will bring you from killarney to dingle via the connor pass. It will avoid all the roads being used by the ROK official so you wont have any hassle. It wont be possible to take in the black valley on the way to croom on the day as it would force you to cycle against the official route from molls gap to kenmare which would probably be a pain in the arse.

You can avoid that first climb("the short mountain",its a tough one) by going along the n70 into Tralee.

    Enjoy!

    PS your link dosent work.

    Excellent Connie,
Ah we like the climbs so don't want to be avoiding them :)
Your start point is that Croom??
Might do the black valley on the Friday when we arrive and head for a pint in that direction to get it out of the way...
So am I right in thinking we head to Killorglin and take a left head up black valley and come out at Molls gap?
We can continue on a back road to Sneem then double back into Kenmare and take in Spillanes and Croom on the way back??
Given the ROK will have the roads closed no doubt lots will be avoiding using the car...
Dingle being a tourist spot what are the roads like out to it??

That route I put up started you off in Killarney but finished at Croom.

To get to the black valley from Killorglin you need to go through the Gap of Dunloe. The Main road from Killorglin to the Gap of Dunloe is the N72, this is part of the official route so probably best avoided before 9am at least.

Here are 2 other nice routes you can do that will take in the black valley and the gap of dunloe. These are the routes I would recommend to anyone staying in Killarney. Both are very rural. Bring food and 2 bottles!

To be honest you cant go wrong in Kerry.
