Hi, I got a job and I start on June 30th. I'm currently on JSA. I filled in an online form to let them know I would be starting a new job on the 30th. Now that I've done it I'm panicking a little cos I didn't think about whether they will continue to pay me until the 30th or not. Does anyone know how it works?

You should get money up to 29th June. Congrats on the job.

Maybe you should have kept quiet until the week you are due to receive your first pay cheque. If you start on the 30th, your payment will cease on the 29th and - depending on when dole day is in your area - you might find yourself only getting 1 day's dole to support you for a week (you don't get paid for Sunday)

That would be against the law and the money would have to paid back so what would be the point?

I didn't inform them until the day before my first wage was to be paid and I didn't have to pay back the money.
The point is, that if the OP has to work a week in hand or is earning a salary, there could be between 2 and 4 weeks where he/she has no money with which to buy food, fuel, pay bills, etc. Self-preservation comes before Legal, in my book.

Your opinion is irrelevant here. The law say that a claimant must be looking for and available for full time work.
If the OP starts work then they no longer meet this criteria and the only relevant advice is that they inform SW that they have secured a job.
BTW this forums charter prohibits advocating fraud, which is what you are suggesting.

His/her username fits the person so well by the sounds of things. Horrible to see people defrauding the state.
